Let’s face it – fall is the perfect time to get family photos done! Give me allll the cozy vibes – beautiful leaves, flannel sweaters, hot chocolate, and pumpkin patch days! Whether you want to bring your favorite cozy blanket, or gather a pile of leaves and throw them in the air you can never go wrong with fall family photos! Albany has many great locations for fall family photos but here are my top 5 favorites!
Best Fall Family Photoshoot Spots:
A great place to take family photos is at EE Wilson Wildlife Area – think piles of leaves and beautiful fall colored trees! Did I just rhyme that on accident?! This area is very accessible and the parking lot is easy to find! It is dog friendly, so feel free to bring your furry friend!
There is a walking path we can walk along and we might even see some wildlife! There is some old architecture on site that has beautiful bricks which make for some beautiful backdrops for family photos.
One best kept secret location for fall family photos is the Benton Woods Neighborhood in North Albany. There is a beautiful walking path with gorgeous trees and leaves which make for beautiful backdrops. There are many different grassy areas to let the kids run around and play during the photoshoot. There is also a little walking bridge which makes for some dreamy family photos!
North Albany Park is a beautiful open park with different picnic areas within the park. There are many trees and when in full bloom it is a beauty to look at! The park is kid friendly, dog friendly, and has a big open grassy field perfect for running around, throwing leaves up in the air or chasing your kids around! You can’t go wrong with family photos here!
4. Peavy Arboretum
Peavy Arboretum is a short 14 minute drive from North Albany headed towards Corvallis. It is managed by Oregon State University and used to help educate students in the forest management program. I can tell you there are SO many areas within Peavy that make for outstanding backdrops for your fall family photos. If your family likes to hike there is a hiking path that leads to a dreamy pond in the middle of the forest! Think cozy cabin vibes! If hiking isn’t your thing there are many areas that don’t require any hiking at all and are easily accessible from the parking lot.
There is a pond that is centrally located with a cute bridge and benches with the beautiful trees in the background. I highly suggest checking out their website and looking at the different trails and looking at the family friendly paths! On their Visitor Information page there are many resources that include the different trail information, maps, park rules, and hours. I have shot many family photos here, and even surprise engagements!
5. Bryant Park
Last but not least we have Bryant Park as another great option for fall family photos! It’s only a short distance from Downtown Albany and with the Willamette River in the background you can be sure to get some very pretty family photos. There is a lot of open space for kids to run around, trees, and the beautiful Willamette River in the background making skipping rocks or letting your dogs run around so fun! There is also a disc golf area on location if your family is into disc golfing this can be a fun way to incorporate an activity into your fall family photos!
No matter what location you choose for your fall family photos, you can’t go wrong! Each spot is unique and can fit your vibe no matter what you are looking for!
